Generic Gems

Generic Gems can be found as ores underground - crafting all 9 together makes the Rainbowinium - its block being an ingredient for the Megacake.

The main 9 Generic Gems are obtained through their ores, and Rainbowinium is crafted with every other Generic Gem.

Rainbowinium specialties

As the combination of every other Generic Gem, it has a few unique quirks..!

  • The Rainbowinium Block is an ingredient in the Megacake.
  • Obtaining a Rainbowinium gives GeminiumGetinium 1.pngGeminium Getinium
  • It can craft Gem Stained Glass (Mentioned later in this page)
  • Many Rainbowinium items can be crafted with 9 of the other corresponding Generic Gem items:

Rainbowinium Ore will randomly turn into one of the 9 Generic Gem ores when you start to mine it.
Once transformed, the new ore will drop its corresponding Generic Gem.

If Rainbowinium Ore is broken before it transforms (like through and explosion), it will randomly drop one of the 9 Generic Gems.
All of these ores are affected by fortune.
They need an Iron Pickaxe or stronger to be mined properly.

Generation:

  • 2 veins of Rainbowinium Ore generate per chunk in groups of 6 ores. They appear between a height of 9 and 35 ~ more commonly at 22. (Triangle generation)
  • 1 vein of Deepslate Rainbowinium Ore generates per chunk in groups of 3 ores. They appear between a height of -8 and 8 ~ more commonly at 0. (Triangle generation)

Every Generic Gem ore (except the jelly versions) can be smelted into Jelly Rainbowinium Ore / Deepslate Jelly Rainbowinium Ore if using Deepslate ores.

Rainbowinium Jelly Ores

These are rarer, monochrome variants of Rainbowinium Ore that can be dyed to become a specific Generic Gem ore.

Clicking on these with specific dyes with turn them into specific Generic Gem ores:

  • Pink Dye or Red Dye = GenericGemAzurrylite.png Azurrylite Ore
  • Magenta Dye = GenericGemCarorianite.png Carorianite Ore
  • Orange Dye = GenericGemFelandrite.png Felandrite Ore
  • Yellow Dye = GenericGemLawdozite.png Lawdozite Ore
  • Lime Dye = GenericGemAzuresonite.png Azuresonite Ore
  • Green Dye = GenericGemSpecrthite.png Specrthite Ore
  • Cyan Dye = GenericGemPumimite.png Pumimite Ore
  • Blue Dye or Light Blue Dye = GenericGemPrarocolumbite.png Prarocolumbite Ore

Destroying Jelly Rainbowinium Ore without dyeing it will drop Cobblestone without Silk Touch, and Rainbowinium Ore with it. Same goes for Deepslate Jelly Rainbowinium Ore, but with Cobbled Deepslate and Deepslate Rainbowinium Ore respectively.
They need an Iron Pickaxe or stronger to be mined properly.

Generation:

  • Jelly variants generate in the same way as normal Rainbowinium ores, but they only appear if there's no air exposed to the ore. (They will only appear buried underneath other blocks or under liquids,)

Each Generic Gem block has a unique variant that crafts in sets of 9 at a Stonecutter.
These variants notably do not appear in the Creative menu.
Some of them can also be placed rotated of on the Y axis.

Campfire-cooking Gem Stained Glass makes it foggy - becoming a fully opaque. The cooking only takes half a second.

There's glass pane versions of these two that are crafted like any other glass pane. Gem Stained Glass Panes can also undergo the foggifying process; only taking one twentieth of a second to cook.

Trivia

  • This page took exactly 4 hours to make!
  • The Generic Gems are parodying the common Minecraft modding issue of minerals being generic, plentiful, and forgettable.
  • Initially, to further the genericnessity of these gems, their textures were originally generated with MCreator's texture generator. They were later given more personality through resprites.
