Shine Tree

Uncommon glowing tree that appears to protect the Overworld's inhabitants.

Protection

Going near a Shine Tree* gives players the ShineBless.pngShine Bless effect, which completely protects them from violence from other mobs (but not other players).

When near a Shine Tree*, monsters occasionally receive ShineStrike 1.png Shine Strike which hurts them for 1 damage at a random rate - on average, once every 0.4 seconds.

*Referring to the Shine Core inside Shine Trees.

Shine wood

A NOT wood type that appears in Shine Trees. (There's no shine planks or doors or fences...)
None of its blocks can be obtained in survival.

Consists of:

  • ShineWood.pngShine Wood
  • ShineLog.pngShine Log (Only in the Creative menu)
  • ShineLeaves.pngShine Leaves
  • ShineVine.pngShine Vines (They're climbable!)
  • ShineCore.pngShine Core
  • ThinShineWood 1.pngThin Shine Wood
^All of these collapse when a Shine Core is broken.

DeepRootedDirt.pngDeep Rooted Dirt Kinda technically is also a part of this NOT wood type. It has no functionality.

Shine Leaves and Shine Vines Produce falling glowing white particles.

Collapse

All shine wood blocks are quite hard to break, and make awful noises if you do so.
Destroying the core of the tree breaks any Shine wood blocks in a 14x14x14 area around it - destroying the entire tree.
Leaving only Deep Rooted Dirt, a hole in the floor, and regret.

Generation

Shine trees appear in any biome on grass blocks.

Due to technical limitations, natural Shine Cores initially appear purple and don't give any protection effects. Once they get naturally ticked (in other words, if you wait a little while) they'll become normal Shine Cores.
